To help ensure today’s live mock runs smoothly, I have temporarily upgraded our Supabase database server to around 20x yesterday’s compute capacity—so we should have more than enough power for today. Going forward, I will probably keep it at around 2x or 4x the previous level.

I also carried out load tests last night, simulating hundreds of students starting and submitting at roughly the same time to see whether the system might fall over at those crunch points. All the tests passed, so I am quietly confident—famous last words!—that everything will run smoothly and I might even be able to have a nap while you are doing the mock this afternoon! 😂

I have also increased the grace period for starting each paper to 10 minutes. This means that, provided you start within 10 minutes of the paper opening, you will still receive the full 75 minutes to complete it.
