Nearly ready

I’m making good progress on the new progression system. It is mostly complete, but as this is a substantial piece of work, I want to check everything thoroughly before releasing it.

In the meantime, you will shortly notice the difficulty ratings for questions change. These new ratings have been carefully calibrated using the official TMUA grade boundaries for past papers, together with anonymised performance data from students using the site. This should provide a much more consistent and reliable indication of how difficult each question really is, across both past papers and mock papers. The old ratings were only my very rough estimates!

These changes are being made in preparation for the new progression system, which I hope to release tomorrow, or by Friday at the latest.
