TMUA Dates, Registration and Results

Booking the TMUA is separate from applying through UCAS. Creating an account is also separate from booking an appointment. You need to complete both steps.

This guide covers 2027 university entry, with tests in October 2026 and January 2027.

Times are UK time. In China, Hong Kong and Macau, TMUA appointments are limited to 15–16 October 2026 or 8 January 2027.

These dates follow the current UAT-UK deadlines page. Its January booking opening date is 28 October; some other pages still show 26 October. Use the live UAT-UK schedule and your account for the latest position.

October or January?

For the standard Oxford and Cambridge application timetable, take the test in October. There are specific January exceptions for certain Cambridge mature-college applications and Oxford Foundation Year applications; check your course's instructions.

Other applicants should check their university requirements before choosing. January is not a second attempt after October: only one sitting is allowed per admissions cycle.

If you have a choice, think about your preparation, school commitments and travel. There is little benefit in selecting a theoretically convenient date if the available test centre requires a stressful journey.

How to register and book

Follow the official registration instructions:

  1. Create your UAT-UK account. Your name must match your test-day ID, and your personal details should match UCAS.
  2. Apply for any bursary or access arrangements before selecting or booking the test, and wait for the decision.
  3. Select TMUA and book an available Pearson appointment.
  4. Pay, unless an approved bursary covers the fee.
  5. Save the confirmation and check the date, centre, time and any approved adjustments.

You can add your UCAS ID later if you do not yet have it. Keep the account details up to date so your application and result can be matched.

The published fee is £78 in the UK and Republic of Ireland, or £133 elsewhere, based on test location. See UAT-UK's TMUA information.

Receiving your result

Your result is made available through your UAT-UK account. UAT-UK notifies candidates by email and shares results with relevant participating institutions on their UCAS application.

Use the release dates above rather than trying to calculate a date from an approximate number of weeks. If something looks wrong with your account or matching details, contact UAT-UK through its official support route.

My practical advice

Put the booking, bursary and access-arrangement deadlines in your calendar separately. Add your own reminder comfortably before each deadline. The mathematical preparation is demanding enough without giving yourself an avoidable administrative problem.
